Sports Hall Schwäbisch Gmünd
In 2019, TDC Polska delivered an LED screen with a 3.9 mm dot and a total area of 12 m2 as part of a project for a sports hall in Schwäbisch Gmünd, Germany. The city authorities decided to purchase the LED screen to increase the attractiveness of sports events and events organised by sports clubs and public administration offices. The LED wall allows the display of not only sports results, it is also an ideal form of an advertisement carrier. During breaks in the match, it allows you to display advertising content of sponsors and broadcast interviews with players.

The project also included the design and execution in accordance with the CNC technique of a lightweight support structure together with handles for electric chain winches. Thanks to D8+ electric chain winches supplied by us, as well as the cable reel system of the renowned IGUS company, the screen could be suspended at any height according to the needs of a given event (e.g. a sporting one). In addition, specially designed shields have been installed on the side and bottom of the screen to protect the display against mechanical damage, such as ball impact. Modern receiver cards of the renowned Novastar company from the Armour series are responsible for the signal management. For image scaling, Novastar equipment was also used, namely the LED VX4S all-in-one controller. The entire installation has a so-called full video path backup, i.e. duplication of the signal paths of the LED wall along its entire length. To enable the conversion of the signal to optical, multichannel fibre optic converters from Novastar have been used. To facilitate the management of the displayed content and display of multimedia materials we used BODET software with a touch control panel, manual time clock and an integrated acoustic siren. As part of the project we also had to fully equip the control and directing station with compact DELL Optiplex workstations with Full HD rotating monitors and dedicated software. Remote control and content control is provided by a professional Blackmagic ATEM Television Studio Pro HD video and audio mixer with integrated mixing panel, which ensures easy and fast operation.
